- Gigged by Sarah Kessler: This book discusses the “gig economy” and the downsides and disruptions that come along with it. Gigged relates to my project because it’ll allow me to view multiple real life experiences, while also relating and comparing the information back to my different theme topics(ex. Airbnb vs. BLANK).
- How to Invest in Airbnb Properties by David Leroux: This book teaches the key concepts of Real Estate and how to invest in Airbnb properties. With steps that are supposed to guide me “step by step”, I’m expecting to take away information that’ll hopefully answer some questions that relate back to my different theme topics(ex. Airbnb vs. BLANK).
- Hotels vs. Airbnb: Has Covid-19 Disrupted the Disrupter? by Elaine Glusac: This article considers the difference between hotels and houses(Airbnb), while also talking about the toll COVID-19 has taken on both aspects. This article will provide me with information that is not seen from the outside regarding COVID-19; as well as the choices people make between deciding to stay at a hotel vs. an Airbnb.
- 127,183 Airbnb Guest Complaints Expose Scams, Safety Concerns, Infestations & More by Asher & Lyric Fergusson: This article report provides the key problems and percentages of disturbances and complaints that renters and owners experience with Airbnb. I expect this research piece to help answer questions that relate back to my Airbnb vs. security theme.
- Tourism and Gentrification in Contemporary Metropolises: International Perspectives edited by Maria Gravari-Barbas, Sandra Guinand: This book mainly covers the relationship between gentrification and tourism and the positive and negative outcomes. This book leans away from what a source I was originally looking for, but I considered it an interesting topic and am hoping a new and interesting theme could come out of it(considering some specific chapters mentioned Airbnb).
